Welcome to Stephen's Vinyl, my online record outlet! Full disclosure here: I'm not a record dealer. I'm not looking to buy any collections, or any records from those looking to sell theirs. I just have a ton of records that I've collected for years and years, and I've decided that it is now time to sell off most of them—and this site is the main place that will have a complete listing of whatever records I have for sale at any point in time. This site will be updated first before any other sites or marketplaces where I have records for sale, and it will have the most info about individual records. Plus: on any other sites where these records are posted for sale, if that site charges me a fee for posting or selling then the prices for those records will be slightly higher at those sites than on this site, to help defray the marketplace fees.
I describe all records that I have for sale in detail, and I post pictures that reveal any flaws or markings, or any other issues in the vinyl or the jacket (or with anything else); because as a collector myself, I know what it's like to be a buyer who is also the end user (not a reseller), and how disappointing it is when expectations are not met. I want my listings to be as accurate as possible, so that what you get when you receive a shipment from me is exactly what you were expecting from the listing—and often it's better than what you expected. Again, I'm a record collector who is now selling his collection—NOT a record dealer selling his inventory—and so buying from me is like doing business with a fellow record collector: I'll do my best to point out everything that I, as a record collector myself, would want to know about all of these records.
I grade very accurately, using the internationally accepted standards from Goldmine, Discogs, and all reputable brick-and-mortar used record stores. Of course, oftentimes the overall grading of a given record can be quite subjective rather than objective, and I generally try to err on the side of being more conservative (rather than less conservative) in those situations. I've had people tell me I grade records more harshly than they would—meaning I assigned a lower grade than they would have—but I've never had someone tell me that I've overgraded a record, or that I've listed it or otherwise represented it as being in better shape than what it actually is.
And so I figured that I would also then continue the theme of accurate descriptions and accurate grading, and give as accurate a value as possible to these records. While I do keep the selling price below book value for almost all of these albums (sometimes a good bit below book value..."book value" meaning the value of a NM copy of the record according to the Rockin' Records 2018-2019 Record Price Guide, adjusted for condition as necessary), this is not a fire sale; these aren't "blowout" prices, and I don't imagine there are too many "deals of a century" in these listings (well, maybe one or two...). But if you are looking for a vinyl copy in (generally) VG or better condition—and in some cases, an amazing specimen—of any of a handful of really great albums, and you are willing to pay a fair price for a well-described and accurately graded one, then you have come to the right place!
Click on an album cover image or description below for more/bigger pics (all pics are of the actual albums for sale), as well as more info (and also the "Add To Cart" button); a short summary is listed to the right of each album cover. Please check out my store info for a more detailed explanation of how I grade, as well as shipping info, policies, etc.
I decided to begin with some selections from my Beatles collection, and then I'll add other records as I'm able to do so. And now...here are the records I currently have for sale:
